The pomodoro technique

The idea behind the pomodoro technique is very simple: Instead of working on a task for the whole time you split it up in 25 minutes chunks (so called pomodoros). e.g. writing a new article for my blog will take me in about 5 pomodoros, including doing the research. After each tomato (= pomodoro) you make a 5 minutes break. After 4 of these tomatoes you deserve a 20 minute break.

So lets say a whole workday might consist of 5 effective working hours (besides meetings, etc…) than this would be 10 tomatoes (see screenshot above).
