Interface Design and Interaction Design
The picture below shows my MA project SoundCircles which I completed besides my job at Nokia. It was part of a series of experiments to explore the digital-self. It transforms personal data into a sound tool which notifies us tacitly about the type of data we publish about ourselves… learn more

At my current job I had the chance to conceptualize interactions for 3D-Map Data Experiences…
… and other map-based information experiences.
Prototyping
For many projects I use prototyping as a tool for communication. On a high as well as on a low-fidelity level, for concepts and for specifications. I had e.g. the pleasure to prototype on a production level for m.here.com, an HTML5 based map application (follow the blinking dot in the animation above to get an idea how I used Flash to communicate a specific flow considering motion and transitions). Besides Flash, I work with Paper, HTML5 and Video Prototypes.
Concept
Sketching, brainstorming and research are ideally the basis for my storyboarding and concepting phase.
On a conceptual level I can create high level idea visualisations…
…and break those ideas down to a very detailed production level, if needed.
About Markus
Interaction designer with a holistic experience in designing digital products and digital media. Started his work life with a jump in the cold water of a movie production company where he developed, while working on DVD Interfaces, his passion for Storytelling and Motion.
Studied Applied Communication and Media Science with a focus on data visualisation, an interdisciplinary program combining information design, media psychology and media computing and
graduated a few years later with a MA in Design for Digital Media from Portsmouth School of Art and Design.
Is currently working at Nokia`s HERE Design Team where he has been employed since 2010. Previous stations involved Fjord where he worked client and agency side in Berlin, Digitas in Paris, Vodafone and OgilvyOne (formerly known as Planetactive) in Duesseldorf.
Experienced in transforming complex issues rapidly into tangible and interactive prototype animations to illustrate design solutions.
